When: Wednesday, March 14, 10:00 AM

On March 14th, the 1 month anniversary of the recent Florida school shooting, American students will walk out of class and protest for 17 minutes. Silently and with signs, we will fight for change. After, return to class. Together, we will send a message that we won’t tolerate any more inaction on this issue. And if cowardly politicians fail to act, young people will show them the consequences of letting so many Americans die by voting them out in November.

Yes! This is necessary and I believe it is the LEAST that should be done. Until schools are made safe from gunmen entering the campus, every school should be concerned. Metal detectors like at the airports are not prohibitive in costs and would potentially screen everyone that enters the campus. Much more effective than the ideas being suggested….training teachers to shoot? come on, do teachers really want to do that? No walk on traffic to campus— without metal detectors! I’ve read the reasons opposing them, but still feel it is better that these alternative ideas. More campus security? The guard was afraid to go in and DO ANYTHING? WHAT GOOD WAS HE FOR SECURITY?

GOOD LUCK PLACER HIGH STUDENTS, STAND PROUD AND STRONG!!!

The movements that have resulted in consciousness change have been due to youth. This is a movement against guns—particularly assault weapons. Know that my voice/vote is behind you. Register to vote and use your voting power to enact change. So PROUD of you!
